Ikazuchi was born in Garundel. As a dragonborn, he was respected but always an outsider. While many of his clan were happy with this distinction, Ikazuchi felt awkward by the unearned adulation of the Garundel.

In his youth, Ikazuchi traveled to the frozen lands of Sturmgrad. He spent many years in the land, learning that honor is taken by performing great deeds and being generous with your wealth. He formed a friendship with famed hero Drumdar Greataxe, becoming one of his seven companions. He journeyed deep into the frozen north, plundering the great Crystal Keep of Iceheart and battling the Winter Witches. Drumdar gave him nickname of Bluethunder. Eventually, Ikazuchi left Sturmgrad, seeking more glory in the south. To celebrate their friendship, Drumdar and his companions gave the dragonborn a great horn and a hooded cloak made from a wolf’s pelt.

Ikazuchi’s wanderings brought him to Isenberg, a town beseeched by the Demon-Spider Talikki. Ikazuchi laid in ambush for the beast, battling her and her foul spawn for a day. When he ripped two of her legs off, the toxic blood that flowed in the spider’s demonic body scarred his face and blinded his left eye. Talikki fled, retreating deep underground. While unable to catch the fleeing spider, Ikazuchi discovered and destroyed her nest (including several more of her foul spawn). The barbarian spent several months in Isenberg, building a great hall and waiting in vain for Talikki’s return. The severed legs of the spider-demon hang to this day above the hearth of Spider-Eater Hall. On behalf of the town, the mayor gave Ikazuchi a mighty spear and a great helm.

Recently, Ikazuchi performed a great task for his homeland of Garundel. The thief, Grant Greyfoot, and his crew stole 24 blue dragon eggs from the clutch of Ithillica Azurewing. The ancient blue dragon refused to speak with Falkiri until the eggs were returned. The Dragonspeaker called for a great hunt and dozens of adventurers answered the call. Ikazuchi and Gar Whitefang (Jose’s character) tracked Grant to his mountain hideout and recovered the eggs. While Grant escaped, his lover Talia was killed in the battle.

Upon returning the eggs, Ithillica gifted the dragonborn with a blue dragon badge, a mighty belt, and the Mark of Storm, binding him to her and her kind. The mark appears on both palms, the back of his neck, and across his chest. With the return of the eggs, Ikazuchi earned the respect of Garundel, become a hero to the nation. The barbarian held a massive festival for the city lasting three days. The party has left him hungry to expand his deeds across the lands.

1-6 Companion of Drumdar Greataxe

The Purge of Reinhold: Reinhold rose in rebellion against the Starks in the north. Drumdar volunteered to end the threat from rebellious lord and led an army to confront the traitor. Ikazuchi joined, seeking glory and a chance to travel with the great hero. After proving himself in battle, Drumdar allowed Ikazuchi to become a member of the Seven Companions.

The Plundering of Iceheart: A sorcerer raised a Crystal Keep long ago in the middle of a large hot springs. The Companions, learning of the riches he had gathered there, set out to plunder the keep. While battling the minions of the Sorcerer, they discovered a large ritual obelisk, one of 13 that had been activated by the Winter Witches to begin the Great Winter.

The Winter Witches: A cabal of witches began a great ritual to bring the great winter to Sturmgrad, activating 13 ritual obelisk across the land. The Companions of Drumdar, having learned of the threat while robbing the Crystal Keep at Iceheart, set out to end the threat. They battled the minions of winter and the witches themselves to end the ritual. The winter lasted two full years and the unnatural cold weakened the seals holding back many threats. The Seven Companions and Drumdar parted ways, each pursuing a threat that the witches had freed.
