Friends and Allies
Arionnona Celthric – Audwyn’s Mother. Elf from Aladrivoss. Met Ferdus d’Rovaire while he was on mission in Aladrivoss. Found his open-minded approach intriguing. Saddened by her eldest daughter’s departure to serve the human gods, but follows her progress as closely as she may.
Azaban – House Vallis, the assassin from Velisia, whisper on the winds of Dalirius. Chosen by the Velisian gods as one of the seven heroes for the Rescue of Soureus. Killed by Shian Tao in Zaros.
Claude – House Ulfand, the druid from Worsch, tender of the evergreen shadelings. Chosen by the Velisian gods as one of the seven heroes for the Rescue of Soureus. Lover of Azaban. Invoked the blood oath against Shian Tao. Escaped from the dungeons of Shian Tao, but pursued him into the depths of the Fortress of Bukaore and presumed dead in its destruction.
Ferdus d’Rovaire – Audwyn’s father. Human from Mothok, and missionary of the Venisian pantheon. Met Audywn’s mother while preaching in the Elven lands of Aladrivoss. Enchanted by her beauty, and by her willingness to engage him in theological debate regarding the various pantheons. Extremely proud that Naophi chose his daughter as one of her priestesses, and is sure to mention it to any who will listen. Considers it a sign that he has served the pantheon faithfully and well.
Jazmaneph – House Thireen, the bard from Toros, laureate of the Countess of Slbodian. Chosen by the Velisian gods as one of the seven heroes for the Rescue of Soureus. Instrumental in assisting Audwyn in leading the mutiny on the pirate ship, Queen of Qaos. Lost in the dungeons of Shian Tao and presumed dead in the destruction of the Fortress of Bukaore.
“The Liberator” – Ship crewed and renamed by the mutineers of the Queen of Qaos. Audwyn and Jazmaneph led the crew in mutiny against the Pirates of the Turmoil Straits in the Rescue of Soureus. In exchange, the crew agreed to take them to Okawa, and then deliver Soureus and the remaining heroes back to the Velisian Kingdoms.
Ming Shao – Immortal warrior who seeks release from life after 530 years. When the Akkaido pantheon will no longer send champions to face him (after he kills many of them), he turns to the Venisian gods. Audywn is sent by Naophi to assist Ming Shao in his quest for death. In return, Ming Shao initiates Audwyn into the ways of the Stygian Adept. Audywn finds the totem to which he is bound, and shattering it, releases him.
Ophasa – House Falgyir, warlock of Falgyir, bringer of the Golden Aura. Chosen by the Velisian gods as one of the seven heroes for the Rescue of Soureus. Kidnapped by the Cult of the Great Dust Dragon in Vomakel. One of the three survivors of the Rescue of Soureus. Escorted Soureus back to Mothok with Thurgi, while Audwyn remained in Imichaga.
Pisha – Goddess of the Wind and Waves, the Ocean, and Travel. Looks favorably upon Audwyn after the assistance she rendered to Pisha’s Champion, Justicius, in retreiving the Silver Trident.
Quentin – House Mothok, paladin of Mothok, slayer of the hordes of West Briar. Chosen by the Velisian gods as one of the seven heroes for the Rescue of Soureus. Lost in the dungeons of Shian Tao and presumed dead in the destruction of the Fortress of Bukaore.
Soureus – Mortal grandson of Vonn, Ruler of the Velisian Gods. Only surviving member of Raytheus’ lineage, the demigod and son of Vonn, sent forever to the Undeworld for the Rape of Teshala, daughter of Virala, almost resulting in war between the Elven and Velisian pantheons. Despite his disgraced parentage, Soureus has been a particular favorite of Vonn’s. Kidnapped by Shian Tao for sacrifice to Modo, the Akkaido God of Death and Undeath, and subject of the Rescue of Soureus. With Ophasa, Audwyn freed him from his bonds in the Shian Tao’s ritual chamber and healed his wounds in the Village of Nakado. Soureus believes he owes Audwyn, Thurgi, and Ophasa a great debt.
Theydon – Prince of House Ovetal of Antaria. Slayer of the Black Serpent of Southbrook. Audwyn saved his life by preventing the serpent’s poison from killing him. Theydon and House Ovetal are grateful, and consider her a friend of the House.
Thurgi – House Yrljar, the warrior from Sturmgrad, savior of the Ice Slopes of Norken. Chosen by the Velisian gods as one of the seven heroes for the Rescue of Soureus. Wanted for the death of Hunja Dobeet, the vizier of Emperor Ajawi. He and Audwyn fought their way out of the dungeon of Shian Tao. One of the three survivors of the Rescue of Soureus. Escorted Soureus back to Mothok with Ophasa, while Audwyn remained in Imichaga.
Village of Nakado – Located in the foothills of Mount Horoshi, in Imichaga, it sat beneath the Fortress of Bukaore. Visited by Audwyn and her companions during the climax of Rescue of Soureus. Shian Tao raided the village for fresh recruits into his undead army. With the destruction of the fortress and Shian Tao, the village elders expressed their gratitude to Audwyn, Thurgi and Ophasa.
Enemies and Adversaries
Bandits of the Reddened Hills – Thieving community on the outskirts of the Vathi Desert of Fire. Stole the basic supplies and pack animals of the heroes of the Rescue of Soureus as they entered the Empire of the Shide. After a prolonged stand-off, Audwyn and her companions chose to abandon the equipment and move on. The Bandits hold no particular animosity towards the group, merely took advantage of an easy mark.
Cult of the Great Dust Dragon – Fringe religious group in the city-state Vomakel. Kidnapped Ophasa during the Rescue of Soureus. Lost several members when Audwyn and her companions rescued Ophasa. Not in a position to do much to avenge themselves, but would take the opportunity if it arose.
Edilynn d’Rovaire – Audwyn’s sister. Two years old at the time Audwyn left, and has had little contact with her since. Envious of Audwyn’s Geis from Naophi, as Edilynn believes she has never lived up to Audwyn’s prestige in her parents’ eyes. Recently married off to Pero Devuci, an aspiring merchant in Sobikai, and member of house Terokai. Not actively seeking to harm Audwyn, but would do her no favors, and wouldn’t mind bringing her down a peg if the opportunity was presented to her.
Emperor Ajawi – Emperor of the Shide Empire. The heroes of the Rescue of Soureus were accused of being spies by Hunja Dobeet, the vizier of the Emperor. Thurgi pushed the Emperor’s vizier out the window of a 20-story tower as part of an elaborate escape. The Emperor has decreed the entire group, including Audwyn, as wanted criminals for espionage and murder, offering a sizable bounty. They are to be brought to Viswan for public trial and execution.
Fao Dang – Ghoul servant of Shian Tao. Fought with Thurgi while Audwyn and Ophasa rescued Soureus from the ritual table of Shian Tao. Presumed dead in the destruction of the Fortress of Bukaore.
Lia Stoneworn – Former duchess of House Pelestru of Antaria. Disgraced by her role in the Black Serpent affair against House Ovetal. Stripped of her lands and title as a result. Harbors a significant grudge against Naophi and her servant, Audwyn.
Pirates of the Turmoil Straits – Notorious pirates active off the coast of Zaros. Captured the heroes of the Rescue of Soureus as they chased Shian Tao’s ship towards Okawa. Suffered the loss of the ship, Queen of Qaos, when Audwyn and Jazmaneph successfully engineered a mutiny on board. Not only eager for revenge, but also well aware of the bounty placed on their heads by the Emperor.
Shian Tao – The Mummy Lord. Kidnapped Soureus and pursued by Audwyn and the other heroes of the Velisian gods in the Rescue of Soureus. Intended to sacrifice Soureus to become the Champion of Modo, the Akkaido god of Death and Undeath. Established himself in the Fortress of Bukaore, on Mount Horoshi, in Imichaga. Raided the nearby Village of Nakado for new minions for his undead army. Killed the assassin Azaban with his mummy rot. Disappeared into the depths of the Fortress of Bukaore and presumed dead upon its destruction.
Thynwun and Thyntuo – the young descendants of the great dragon lord, Katenhut, who had slain Menaphus and seized the Silver Trident of Pisha. Both were slain by Justicius, Audwyn, and Sharas on the Island of Forever, freeing the island from the magical curtain that surrounded it.
Aramantis – The Djinn of the Emerald Flask. Nearly turned the heroes of the Rescue of Soureus into camels for the stables of Prince Kalakonov after a poorly worded request by Claude.
Jin Li – Local mystic near the Village of Nakado, in Imichaga. Rival necromancer of Shian Tao, the Mummy Lord. Assisted the Rescuers of Soureus in finding a secret entrance into the Fortress of Bukaore, which was unfortunately trapped. Lost in the dungeons of Shian Tao and presumed dead in the destruction of the fortress.
Justicius – Champion of Pisha, goddess of the oceans. Wielder of the Silver Trident. Audwyn assisted him in his quest to retrieve the trident from the young twin dragons, Thynwun and Thyntuo. Justicius will grudgingly admit that Audwyn was a useful guide, with as much praise as he would lend to a good pair of boots.
Sharas – Bard who tells the tale of Justicius and the Silver Trident. Neglects to include Audwyn in the tale, but not out of malice, just editorial prerogative.
Staheed – Ranger who accompanied Theydon and Audwyn on the adventure of The Lair of the Black Serpent.
